What began as a shared vision rooted in compassion has now culminated in an extraordinary act of community generosity.
On February 11th, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and Blessed in Hawaii proudly presented the final check for the Hope Collective partnership, bringing the total funds raised for the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) to $75,232.39, far exceeding expectations.
In addition to the monetary donation, HawaiiUSA and Blessed in Hawaii purchased nearly $2,000 worth of the remaining Collective children’s clothing inventory to donate directly to DVAC clients. In a generous gesture, Blessed in Hawaii owner Shari Yamaguchi donated the full $2,000 in gross proceeds back to DVAC, ensuring the entire amount supports survivors and their families.
For HawaiiUSA, this Life Matters Collective initiative has been one of the most meaningful collaborations to date. “This initiative truly demonstrates what’s possible when our community comes together with purpose,” said Tanya Lee, Vice President of Culture and Impact at HawaiiUSA. “Financial wellness means more than dollars and cents, it means safety, dignity, and the ability for families to move forward. We are incredibly grateful to DVAC, Blessed in Hawaii, and every member of our community who made this possible.”
Throughout the partnership, proceeds from Hope Collective merchandise have supported DVAC’s critical services for survivors of domestic violence, including emergency housing assistance, childcare support, transportation, safety planning, and access to legal advocacy. These community-raised funds provide both immediate relief and long-term stability for families rebuilding their lives.
“The Hope Collective support tells our team, and especially the survivors that we serve, that we see them, that we believe in them,” said Ella Mojica, Deputy Director at DVAC. ” This is more than financial support, it’s really a message of community, and of hope.”
As this chapter of the Hope Collective comes to a close, its impact will continue to ripple through the lives of the families DVAC serves. The money raised represents tangible hope delivered through collective action.
Mahalo to everyone who joined us in building resilience with survivors and stronger futures across Hawaii. Together, we proved that when we lead with aloha, meaningful change follows.
